The Year of Living Biblically: One Man’s Humble Quest to follow the Bible as Literally as Possible
By A. J. Jacobs
Don’t be put off by the cover, I certainly was. The author dressed in a white toga with a shepherds crook and a sheep sent the message this was going to be the biblical version of Borat. Making yukyuk jokes at the expense of people who are too polite to tell the protagonist to f**k off.
Instead this book, delicately balances an empathetic exploration of divergent views from Christian and Jewish traditions of what it means to live biblically, and a personal exploration of what it might to believe in God.
